Billy Bob Thornton Fast Facts:

Grew up in a small cabin without electricity or running water.
Tried out for the Kansas City Royals baseball team in the '70s, but a wild pitch broke his collarbone and ended his potential pro career.
Performed as a singer and drummer in various rock and blues bands.
Made three appearances on the sitcom Evening Shade, fulfilling his mother's psychic prediction that he would one day work with Burt Reynolds.
Wrote the screenplay for Sling Blade in longhand because he cannot type.
Adopted a Cambodian boy, Maddox, in 2003 with then-wife Angelina Jolie. Once Thornton and Jolie divorced, Jolie assumed full custody of Maddox, and later, Jolie's boyfriend Brad Pitt adopted him.
