Ben Kingsley Fast Facts:

Made his TV debut in 1966 on the British soap Coronation Street and made his London stage debut the same year, in a musical produced by Beatles manager Brian Epstein. By 1967 he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Made his Broadway debut in 1984 in Kean, a one-man show about 19th-century English actor Edmund Kean; Kingsley's second wife, Alison Sutcliffe, directed.
Was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2001.
