Billy Boyd Fast Facts:

Was raised by his grandmother after losing both of his parents while a teen: his mother died from heart disease, his father of cancer.
Left school before his 17th birthday and spent a number of years working as a bookbinder.
Made his stage debut in the title role of the musical Secret Diary of Adrian Mole at Scotland's Byre Theatre of St. Andrews.
Breakout role was as hobbit Pippin in the blockbuster The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Plays bass, drums and guitar, and also sings.
A skilled fencer and martial artist.
