Tim Burton Fast Facts:

Father was a minor league baseball player.
Lived with his grandmother for most of his childhood.
Won a prize for an anti-litter poster in 9th grade.
Attended California Institute of the Arts on a Disney animation scholarship. John Lasseter, director of Toy Story, and Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles, were two of his classmates.
Did uncredited work on The Fox And The Hound and The Black Cauldron before convincing Disney to let him make his career-launching, the 1984 live-action short Frankenweenie.
Danny Elfman scored all of his films from Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) to Corpse Bride (2005), with the exception of 1994's Ed Wood.
Said that the relationship between Ed Wood and Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood was akin to his own relationship with Vincent Price. Burton's Edward Scissorhands was Price's final film.
