  • Got his start as a writer when he was hired by Rolling Stone magazine as a 15-year-old; his experieces were the basis for Almost Famous, a 2000 comedy-drama for which he won an Oscar.
  • His book Conversations With Wilder (1999) is a collection of interviews he did with his hero, writer-director Billy Wilder.
