Eddie Griffin Fast Facts:

Married his high-school sweetheart when he was 16 years old. They divorced the next year.
Studied dance for three years at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre.
Composed halftime shows for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Launched professional comedy career when his cousin dared him to go on stage during an amateur open-mike night.
Made TV debut on HBO's Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam.
First movie role was an uncredited bit in the 1991 film The Five Heartbeats but he didn't receive top billing until 2001's Double Take.
In 1998, he suffered a heart attack while rehearsing a dance sequence on the set of Malcolm and Eddie.
