Great-grandfather Herbert Henry Asquith was Prime Minister of the UK from 1908-16.
Great-uncle Anthony Asquith was a renowned film director and screenwriter (Pygmalion (1938), the 1952 version of The Importance of Being Earnest).
As a teenager, she used money she won in a poetry contest to buy an ad in an actor's directory to try to land acting jobs.
Directed by long-time companion (and father of her son) Tim Burton in the movies Planet of the Apes (2001), Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Corpse Bride (2005) and Sweeney Todd (2007).
After their son Billy Ray was born, she and Burton bought houses next door to each other in London.
