  • When he was a child, he had a severe stutter.
  • Recruited by the U.S. Army in 1953, he served two years in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps.

  • In 1966, he began a recurring role as Dr. Jerry Turner on the CBS daytime drama As The World Turns.
