Although she's been well known in her native Canada since the '90s, Matchett didn't make a name for herself in Hollywood until she landed the role of an alien-plagued doctor on the sci-fi series Invasion in 2005. After starting out on the small screen north of the border, she quickly segued to feature films. The comely, patriotic actress bristles when asked if she will apply for American citizenship. (She won't.) She is married to small-screen director T.W. Peacocke, who has worked with her on a number of series.
