Lynda Carter Fast Facts:

Is of Mexican and Irish ancestry.
Performed in local bands before joining and touring with the Garfin Gathering at age 17.
In the early 1970s, won Miss Arizona and then Miss World USA.
Beat out thousands for the seminal role of Wonder Woman in the hit show Wonder Woman (1976-1979), which was Carter's first TV pilot.
Forayed into TV movies in 1976's crime-drama flick A Matter of Wife and Death.
Released a solo album in 1978 entitled Portrait.
Won the Hispanic Woman of the Year Award in 1983.
Has been involved in a number of charitable organizations including the Susan G. Komen Foundation (for breast cancer education and research) and the Red Cross.
Penned the forward to the book Wonder Woman: The Complete History (2000).
Honored by the Women in Film & Video (WIFV) of Washington, D.C. at the 2004 Women of Vision Awards Gala.
Began an eight-week stint in a London production of Chicago in 2005.
