  • Her grandfather, Harry Crane, wrote for the classic 1950s sitcom Honeymooners.

  • When she was just nine years old, she beat out over 500 girls to land the signature role of Laura Ingalls Wilder on the family drama Little House on the Prairie.
  • Breakout TV-movie role was in 1977's Christmas in Caulfield, USA.
  • Met first husband, Bo Brinkman, on a blind date and married him within two months.
  • In 1985, became one of the youngest actresses to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
