Miranda Richardson Fast Facts:

Originally wanted to be a veterinarian.
Trained for the stage at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (1977-79), where she studied alongside Daniel Day-Lewis.
Has appeared in many repertory stage productions in England, including Educating Rita, All My Sons and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Her breakthrough performance came in 1985 as Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be executed in England, in Mike Newell's Dance With a Stranger.
Turned down the Glenn Close role in Fatal Attraction (1987).
