Competed on the sixth season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, with partner Fabian Sanchez. She said at the time that her career has been about defying expectations. "I've been doing that ever since I won the Academy Award and critics said I won out of pity, just because I'm deaf." Before their elimination halfway through the season, she relied heavily on Sanchez, who demonstrated the moves as her interpreter relayed instructions.
