Nick Cassavetes Fast Facts:

Son of pioneering indie actor-director John Cassavetes and Oscar-nominated actor Gena Rowlands.
At 11, made his uncredited film debut in his father's 1970 drama Husbands. First theatrical film as an adult was 1985 Cher drama Mask.
Attended Syracuse University on an athletic scholarship for basketball, but injured his knee; subsequently transferred to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Made his directing debut in 1996 with Unhook the Stars, starring his mother; also directed her in She's So Lovely (1997) and surprise box-office hit The Notebook (2004).
Has the name "Teddy" tattooed on one of his biceps, in memory of late director and friend Ted Demme, who died suddenly in 2002.
