Regina Taylor Biography

regina taylor
  • Birth Name: Regina Annette Taylor
  • Birth Place: Dallas, TX
  • Date of Birth / Zodiac Sign: August 22,
  • Profession: Actor; playwright
A versatile character actress who worked on stage before coming to prominence on the small screen, Taylor manages to exude fierce intelligence without saying a word. After earning a Golden Globe and two Emmy nods for her performance as a conflicted nanny on the critically acclaimed Civil Rights-era drama I'll Fly Away, she tackled supporting roles in a string of features while simultaneously pursuing a career as a playwright. By the late '90s, perhaps fed up with the lack of challenging screen roles available for black women, she focused her attention on the stage and all but fell off the Hollywood radar. She resurfaced in 2006 as the supportive wife of a military man on The Unit.
