Peter Sellers Fast Facts:

Descendant of 19th-century British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli.
His parents were both vaudeville performers, and his first appearance on stage came when his parents brought him out at 2 days old.
His birth name was Richard Henry Sellers, but his parents eventually renamed him Peter in honor of his stillborn older brother.
Acted as a concert entertainer for the British Royal Air Force during World War II.
Originally considered going into the music business as a jazz drummer rather than acting.
Played bumbling Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau in five Pink Panther movies from 1963 to 1978. After his death, a sixth film, 1982's Trail of the Pink Panther, used outtakes and old footage from the previous films.
First person to be nominated for an Oscar for playing multiple characters in one movie, for 1964's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
