Rod Serling Fast Facts:

Had his nose broken twice as a Golden Gloves boxer; won 17 of 18 matches.
Served as a paratrooper during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
In addition to producing Twilight Zone, he wrote more than half of the episodes.
In 1969, he became the first host of the syndicated game show Liar's Club where contestants guessed which celebrity was giving the true description of an unusual object.
Was posthumously inducted into the TV Academy Hall of Fame in 1985.
