  • Date of Birth / Zodiac Sign: 11/06/1946, Scorpio

Sally Field Fast Facts:
  • High-school classmates included financier Michael Milken and Hollywood super-agent Michael Ovitz, who represented her for a time.
  • In 1964 straight out of high school, she enrolled in an acting workshop. During her first week, a Screen Gems casting director spotted her and she was quickly signed to star in Gidget.
  • Earned $500 an episode for Gidget.
  • Became pregnant during the last season of The Flying Nun, but hid her growing belly beneath the habit and behind books.
  • Reportedly took her role in 1977's Smokey and the Bandit in order to broaden her appeal and ended up falling in love with its director/star, Burt Reynolds.
  • Made one of the more memorable — and often misquoted — Oscar speeches when accepting her second Best Actress award for her work in 1984's Places in the Heart: "I haven't had an orthodox career and I've wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn't feel it, but this time I feel it, and I can't deny the fact that you like me. Right now, you like me!"
