Shirley Jones Fast Facts:

Named after Shirley Temple.
Grandfather, William B. Jones, founded the Jones Brewing Company in Smithton, PA, in 1907.
Was Miss Pittsburgh in 1952.
Originally planned to become a veterinarian but switched to acting after winning a scholarship to the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
After seeing her in The Big Slide, Burt Lancaster invited her to play Lulu Baines in Elmer Gantry, for which she won an Oscar.
Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Valentine's Day in 1986.
