David Thewlis Fast Facts:

Thewlis is his mother's maiden name.
At 16, he joined the punk rock group Door 66. Enrolled in drama school when his fellow band members decided to study drama.
Won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993 for Naked.
After filming Seven Years in Tibet with Brad Pitt, he was banned for life from entering China.
Originally considered for the role of Quirrell in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, before he was cast as Lupin in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
