Spencer Tracy Fast Facts:

Due to his rebellious attitude and his father's nomadic work, Tracy attended 15 grade schools and six high schools.
At the urging of his father, he considered going into the priesthood.
Dropped out of high school to enlist in the Navy with longtime friend and fellow actor Pat O'Brien.
While studying medicine at Wisconsin's Ripon College, he decided to become an actor after starring in several school plays.
First major big-screen role came in John Ford's 1930 crime comedy Up the River.
First actor to win back-to-back Oscars.
After reportedly causing problems on the set, Tracy was fired from Robert Wise's 1956 film Tribute to a Bad Man; it was Tracy's final project with MGM after two decades at the studio.
Appeared in nine films with companion Katharine Hepburn. They first co-starred in the 1942 romantic comedy Woman of the Year; they last appeared together in 1967's Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, which was completed 17 days before Tracy's death.
