Blair Underwood Fast Facts:

Father was a U.S. Army colonel; Blair moved frequently and grew up in several places, including Michigan, Colorado, Virginia and Germany.
Wanted to be a cowboy before he wanted to be an actor; in addition to horseback riding, he has taken part in rodeos.
TV appearances include guest spots on The Cosby Show and Knight Rider; regular roles on Downtown and L.A. Law; and recurring roles on soap One Life to Live, Sex and the City; The New Adventures of Old Christine and Dirty Sexy Money.
Outspoken champion for civil rights and involved in numerous charitable organizations: recipient of the 1993 Humanitarian Award from the Muscular Dystrophy Association; cofounder of Artists for a New South Africa; awarded an NAACP Image Award in 1994.
