Primarily a small-screen player, this boyishly handsome actor began working professionally at age 10 and won the hearts of tweens everywhere as a dog's best friend on the TV show The New Lassie. Myriad guest spots and short-lived series followed as Estes grew up on camera. He landed a plum role as a seaman in the 2000 submarine film U-571. Even as an adult, the youthful player continued to score high-school roles, including a football star on the '60s period drama American Dreams and the teen father of an illegitimate child on the short-lived time-tripping series Reunion in 2005.
